Finding a good game
shouldn't be the hard part.
Frienemi is racket sport, minus the friction. No group chats, no ghosting, no wondering if you're about to get blown out. Just rated players near you — someone who'll fight for every point, then grab a drink after.
Our mission
Make connecting over a racket sport as easy as it can possibly be.
Finding a hit, a rival, or a whole crew shouldn't take more effort than the game itself. So our first job is simple: connect players — anytime, anywhere — with as little friction as possible.
Our second is to give clubs the freedom to run their community however they want — casual socials, shuffled round-robins, or full tournaments — so every player gets a richer experience on and off the court.
And our third is to bring back the pure joy of competing: a live rating, a leaderboard to climb, and a rival to chase. Tennis, or any racket sport.
Our story
Started in Perth, built for anywhere.
Frienemi began with a group of Perth players tired of dead group chats and no-shows. We wanted to know who was actually up for a game today — and whether they'd be any match for us.
It's built and run by Short Tec, a Western Australian software studio. We're starting in Perth, proving it out one court at a time, and rolling city by city from there.
We build in the open. What we're working on lives on the roadmap, what we've shipped is in the changelog, and what comes next is decided partly by you on the feedback board.

Every player carries a real, live rating. No sandbaggers, no mystery mismatches — just a fair game at your level.
Show up for the game
Accept-to-lock confirms and a reliability score mean the match you booked is the match you get.
Private by default
Your exact court stays hidden until you both confirm. You choose who sees you and when.

We ship in the open, read every piece of feedback, and let the community vote on what's next.
