Troubleshooting

Three switches, and they are worth checking in this order, because the first one overrides the other two. 1. Your phone. iOS Settings → Frienemi → Notifications, or Android's per-app notification settings. If Frienemi is denied here, nothing in the app can get through. 2. Frienemi. Settings → Notifications → Push notifications. Below it are separate toggles for match reminders and club activity emails. 3. Battery saving, on Android. Some manufacturers' power-saving modes stop background delivery outright, and the app is given no say in it. If all three are on and you still get nothing, sign out and sign back in. That re-registers the device with our server and fixes a push token that has gone stale, which is the usual cause once the switches are ruled out.

Force-close it and reopen once. If it happens again, update from the App Store or Play Store — a launch crash is usually a build problem rather than a problem with your account. If you are already on the latest version, tell us: phone model, OS version, and the app version from Settings → About → App version. Email support@frienemi.com or use Send feedback on frienemi.com. Crash reports do reach us automatically, but they cannot tell us what you were trying to do, which is often the part that identifies the bug.

Submitting a score needs a working connection at the moment you submit it. Nothing is held on the phone and sent later, so if it fails, it failed — check your connection and submit it again rather than assuming it is queued somewhere. If it keeps failing on a connection that is otherwise fine, tell us which match at support@frienemi.com instead of retrying; repeated submissions do not help and make the match harder to untangle.

No. Nothing in Frienemi shows an online dot or a last-seen time — there is no presence indicator anywhere in the app. What other people can see is activity, not presence: that you posted or joined a match, and your result once one is scored.

That is deliberate, not a fault. Tournaments are built but switched off in the current release, so the entry points stay visible and greyed out rather than disappearing. Nothing you do will open them, and there is no setting that turns them on.

Also deliberate. Everything whose subject is money — membership plans, prices, payouts, the club's finances, and your own membership status, receipts and cancellation — lives on the web at app.frienemi.com rather than in the mobile app. Two clients had grown the same screens in parallel and drifted, and money is the wrong thing to have two versions of. Paying to join a session still works in the app. That is a checkout, not an administration screen, and it has to work where you are.
