Getting started
From download to your first locked match in under five minutes.
How do I sign up?+
Download Frienemi from the App Store or Google Play, open the app, tap "Get Started", and enter your email. We'll send a 6-digit code — paste it in to verify. Then choose a display name, optionally upload a photo, and you're in.
Do I need an invite to join?+
During the closed beta (Perth, 2026) yes — invite or signup via a partner club. As we open more cities the invite gate will lift. If you're in Perth and don't have an invite, email hello@frienemi.com — we'll send you one if you tell us where you usually play.
What's the survey on first launch?+
If you don't have a UTR, we ask 4 quick questions (years played, level you compete at, win rate vs your usual opponents, recent comp results) and seed your starting rating. Takes under 2 minutes. You can re-run the survey from Settings any time.
How do I find my first match?+
Tap the orange Quick Match button on the home screen. We ping every rated player at your level within your selected radius. First to accept locks the match — you'll get a notification, and the chat opens automatically so you can sort time, court, and balls.
What if nobody accepts?+
Quick Match runs for 4 hours. If nobody accepts in that window we cancel it cleanly and don't double-charge your queue. Try a wider radius (e.g., from 5 km to 15 km) or post a Casual match — those don't affect your rating and tend to fill faster.
